Window Decorating Contest

This year our theme is WHITE.

Our annual window decorating contest will be for everyone.

There will be no need to register or be nominated.  All locations will be included in our judging process.

A panel of 3 judges will be selected from our Board.  They will review each location and determine which displays will merit recognition for First, Second or Third place plaques.

We encourage everyone to promote a renewed spirit of excitement through your creative displays.   Lets demonstrate we are a community that accepts our challenges and cares about promoting a positive image to all.

Optimist Santa Clause Parade

Adding to the season’s excitement in our downtown will be the spectacular Optimist Santa Claus Parade.   Santa and his helpers will arrive on Saturday, November 19, 2011 starting at 6pm.   Bands, floats, colourful costumes, festive music and so much more will entertain all.  Of course the kids will love the candy.

Please try to remember the Caring Cupboard, Christmas Care and other charities.  Canned goods, clothing and durable goods will be collected along the parade route by the local firefighters.

A special treat will be the appearance of the Rick Hansen tour and its special guests to promote his Man in Motion projects.

We are honoured to welcome this tour to our community.   Join in the fun!

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Once again, we will have our annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall.

It will be held between 6-9pm. on Friday, November 18, 2011.

This year’s tree will be aglow with over 2000 white LED bulbs (you’re welcome to count them all).  Our thanks to St. Thomas Energy, Canadian Tire and the City’s Parks and Recreation Department   Entertainment will be performed by our own Arthur Voaden Musical group.  Refreshments provided by Tim Horton and the DDB.  MyFM will be on hand to welcome our special guest …. SANTA on board his special ride, a shiny bright red Fire Truck.

We encourage one and all to provide donations to the Caring Cupboard (canned goods) and to Inn Out of the Cold. (clothing and food containers).

Come and Enjoy
