Heroes

9 Princess Ave (Veterans Memorial Garden)

This 160′ mural on the back wall of the plaza on Princess Avenue is a dedication to all Veterans and First Responders, depicted in a field of growing poppies. This image also represents a community that rises up to meet all ongoing challenges with an unconquerable spirit of courage. It is a celebration of both our heroes and life itself.

St. Thomas has a special connection to WW1 with its Vimy Oaks, descendants of acorns gathered up by a Canadian soldier after the history-making First World War battle of Vimy Ridge. There is also a war memorial garden in Pinafore Park.
