Animal Aide performs liaison activities with other animal care and shelter facilities, as well as community awareness and fundraising activities. Animal Aide has grown into a dynamic organization. We take in over 400 cats every year. All our animals go through a vet check and are given all necessary vaccinations. Adults are spayed or neutered.

A group of concerned citizens, noting the rising unemployment within St. Thomas and Elgin County, contacted local churches to form a steering committee to discuss the feasibility of opening a food bank. What began in 1986 as a temporary measure to assist individuals and families, who found themselves unemployed, has continued to this day.
