Kevin Ledo is a Montréal-based artist well-known for his stunning large-scale portraits, including Leonard Cohen in Montréal, Alex Trebek in Sudbury, and Rosa Parks in Detroit. This mural features Jack Graney, who was born in St. Thomas in 1886 and went on to enjoy a successful career in Major League Baseball, winning the World Series with Cleveland in 1920. After his playing days, Graney became a broadcaster, the first former major leaguer to do so. This mural is located around the back entrance of 560 Talbot Street, the home of indoor training for St. Thomas Minor Baseball.

Jack Graney was born in St. Thomas on June 10th, 1886, and enjoyed a successful career in major league baseball and later in broadcasting. A few career highlights: he played for Cleveland in 1908 and from 1910 to 1922, winning a World Series in 1920; when he stepped up to the plate on July 11, 1914, he became the first batter to face Babe Ruth; batting leadoff, he led the American League in walks twice, and in doubles once. After his playing days, he became the first former player to work as a broadcaster, calling play-by-play for Cleveland from 1932 to 1953.
