L1 is an electric boxcab locomotive, built in 1915 for the London & Port Stanley Railway. It was primarily used to haul freight between London, St. Thomas, and Port Stanley. L1 was retired in 1966 and donated to the National Museum of Science and Technology in Ottawa in 1967. In 1995 it was transferred to the ECRM, where the exterior has been restored.
